There’s no doubt that Technology has now become essential in the Recruitment industry. Recruiters have an increasing number of methods available to find their next talent, including sector specific job boards, Jobs by Email, Social Media networks and online candidate databases. Despite this, it seems like there’s one thing which still hasn’t changed; the power of referrals.
We briefly touched on this in a previous article, stating the importance of letting family and friends know when you’re looking for your next opportunity. Not only do they know you better than everyone else, they could sell your skills and experiences better than your CV.
In this article we’ll be highlighting how we’ve incorporated candidate and client referrals into our recruiting process. In our next article we’ll be discussing the impact of employee referrals on your business.
Here at Kyna Associates, we understand the value of a referral: If you’ve ever spoken to anyone in our team you would have been asked “is there anyone you know currently looking for a new opportunity?” That’s because we believe the best way to get a referral is to simply ask for one. Here are another 5 ways we’ve incorporated referrals into our recruiting efforts:
Email makes it easier: By sending mailers to our candidates when new opportunities become available, we make it easier for them to refer these opportunities onto anyone in their network who may be interested.
Providing excellent customer service: Our team at Kyna Associates ensures every candidate receives an outstanding service, from CV writing tips to interview coaching. This means those we speak to are much more likely to refer our services onto those in their network.
Rewarding our referees: We pay a £250 or £500 referral bonus for every successful candidate referral. We also personally contact all of our referees to ensure we say “Thank you” for referring them onto us.
Thinking about the future: We understand that our current candidates may become their companies’ next hiring managers. With this in mind, we want to make sure the service we provide highlights the high standard with which we treat our candidates and our clients, ensuring they think of us when it comes to overcoming their recruitment challenges.
Hearing their thoughts: Just as we do with our candidates and our clients, we have now started inviting our Referees to leave us feedback on the independently managed review site Feefo, where we’re the only UK recruitment consultancy with 100 % positive feedback. This is to ensure that every person who goes through our process has the opportunity to provide us with feedback on our services.
